DCS is a Departure Control System that can be used in three modes of operations including: including Local Mode, Host mode and a back up to Host mode.

Local Mode
The system provides a fully featured Local Departure Control where airlines who do not have host systems or prefer a local connection can process their passengers just as efficiently as those with host systems.

Host Mode
DCS operates as a graphical user interface to an existing Airline Host System such as Gabriel DCS. The Departure Control system speeds up host check- in and reduces agent training automatically.

Host Back-up Mode
If the host connection to the airport is disrupted, flight may be switched to local mode. In the event of communication breakdown, the system falls back to local DCS operation using the latest information from the host before communication was interrupted. This mechanism allows check-in operations to proceed normally without the problems and delays normally associated with a switch to manual check-in.

DCS provides the following operations for check-in desk operations:

Selection of Flights
The system allows the check-in desk user to select data for any flight from those that are currently open for check-in.  This is if the user is authorized and the user’s desk is authorized for check-in of the flight selected.

The presentation of aircraft layouts during seating operations clearly defines the check-in desk user’s available seats, classes of seats, smoking and non smoking areas, aisles, windows, wings and doors. Aircraft rows and columns are numbered with all occupied and pre-reserved seats clearly marked.
 
The DCS map is dynamic, reflecting changes that occur in other check-in desks and transfer desks.
