STATE-OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY FOR THE NEW TOCUMEN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, PANAMA.
ZORTEK SYSTEMS , a North American Company with headquarters in Miami , Florida , has been selected by the new Tocumen International Airport in Panama to provide, install and maintain the Airport Information and Management System for this terminal. The Company was selected following a bidding process lead by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Tocumen is the most important airport in Panama. It serves as headquarters - HUB of COPA Airlines and also as an unavoidable transit point for the most important airlines operating in Latin America .
Some of the attractions in Panama include the Panama Canal, the Financial Centre in Panama City and tourism supported by the Airport itself, which is a vital service for air transportation inside the country.
With the launch and the implementation of all the Systems and Services offered, this airport will become one of the most advanced terminals in Latin America by using state-of-the-art technology and Automated-Integrated Systems in operations and airport management. These systems are expected to increase efficiency in the use of resources and also in service given to customers and users, based in the adaptable features of the systems to fit any carrier or airline, when public demand for air traffic occurs.
The contract also includes engineering to install all Systems, delivery and installation of equipment, software, system set-up, delivery and commissioning of such equipment and also a special program that includes warranty, spare parts, remote support-maintenance and 7/24 on-site support, 365 days a year, for the first five years. With this type of contract, the administration of Tocumen International Airport assures the continuity of operations and maintenance of the systems installed on a reasonable period and this way avoids unpredicted outlays for the period established. This strategic model of maintenance and post-sale support - including 7/24 on-site support, replacement of damaged parts and system update, is now a common practice in airport implementations developed by Zortek Systems.
ZORTEK SYSTEMS, as an Airport Systems Integrator, assumes this compromise with the same responsibility shown in similar contracts and consolidates years of experience of its personnel and associates in the prosecution of Modern Solutions for Airport Operation and Management based in IT.
The main solutions or systems for the Airport Information and Management System include a wired network with primary modules and workstations, a Common User System for Airline Check-In Counters (CUS/DS), a Visual Information Display System for flights and baggage (EVIDS), an Automated Operational Database Server (AODB), a Resource Management System for aircraft parking and management of gates (RMS), a Public Address & Sound System (PAS), Access Control System, Closed Circuit TV (CCTV), Point-Of-Sales System (POS), Centralized & Synchronous Clock System, Billing System, SCADA System and VoIP Telephony System.
Apart from its vast experience and technology, ZORTEK SYSTEMS has integrated the engineering processes, hardware and software from well-known companies around the world, such as Ultra-Electronics, GBM, TSI, Intelect and Zultys, to offer a highly efficient solution with the latest technology to fit the new Tocumen International Airport requirement; focusing in Airport management and airline-service areas.
One of the main factors that helped ZORTEK SYSTEMS in obtaining the contract consisted in the cost-effective value offered for the products involved, which compared to the average of the other proposals showed very-low prices. This shows a new way of doing business, where customer's interests are a primary concern, and a very important detail in a growing market for airport facilities, as expressed by Mr. Fernando Rojas, Executive Vice President of the company. |
