The Metal Detection System is a system that has high sensitivity to all metal with automatic calibrate, and digital signal processing. Almost all Metal Detectors are composed based on a pulse induction. They are a collection of wires that act as the transmitter and receiver.  If a metal passes through the metal detector, the pulse creates an opposite magnetic field in the object.

To know there is a metal object interfering, there is a test circuit in the metal detector to examine the length of the reflected pulse. If the decay of the reflected pulse takes more that a few microseconds, then there is a metal object interfering.
